Brian Steiner
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Brian Steiner has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate bridge lending. Mr. Steiner was formerly Vice President of Mercury Equity Group, and since 2005, has successfully originated, syndicated and closed in excess of $5 billion of short-term CRE loans throughout the United States. After starting his career as an Associate Director for The Hunter Realty Organization, he was recruited to manage a retail home equity and mortgage portfolio for JP Morgan Chase, where he achieved “Leaders Club” and “Circle of Excellence” recognition for portfolio growth in 2003. Mr. Steiner was Series 7, Series 63 and Series 79 licensed and specialized in private placements while overseeing several joint ventures with various hedge funds and wealth management firms.
Mr. Steiner holds a B.S. degree in Finance and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida.
Adam Glick
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Adam Glick is a 25+ year industry veteran in commercial real estate bridge lending. Adam was formerly the Vice President at Mercury Capital Group, and since 1997, he has successfully originated and closed over $5 billion of short-term CRE loans throughout the United States. His expertise in structuring nonconforming real estate transactions, from bankruptcy and foreclosure workouts with borrowers and developers alike, spans all property types and classes.
Adam holds a B.A. in Finance from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
Jason Bordenick
Portfolio Manager & Partner
Jason Bordenick is a Managing Director and a Portfolio Manager. He is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of firm’s investments. In addition, Jason is responsible for strategic capital formation & growth initiatives. Jason has over 14 years of industry experience and has invested $4.0+ Billion in CRE debt and equity while holding senior investment positions at various institutions. Prior to joining Maxim, Jason was the founder and Managing Principal of Seven Valleys Capital (SVC), the direct lending arm for a multi-billion dollar (AUM) single-family office. Prior to founding SVC, Jason was a Managing Director at NorthStar Asset Management Group. Prior to NorthStar, Jason was a Vice President at Natixis Real Estate Capital, LLC. Jason is a member of the Urban Land Institute New York Mixed-Use Council.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester.
Ed Martinson
CFO/ COO, Risk Committee Chairman & Partner
Edward Martinson is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Maxim. Mr. Martinson has over 29 years of financial industry experience, having previously served as the CFO and COO for Arcem Capital LLC, a global macro fixed-income fund, and as a Managing Director of Finance at Oak Hill Platinum Partners, an actively traded $3 billion fixed-income hedge fund. At Oak Hill, Mr. Martinson developed operational and accounting infrastructure before becoming a founding principal, board member and COO of Ophedge Investment Services, a $40 billion AUA spin-out of Oak Hill’s mid and back office.
Mr. Martinson began his career with KPMG Peat Marwick’s New York Financial Services specializing in large multi-national broker-dealers and investment companies, followed by five years as a manager at Moore Capital Management with responsibility for all aspects of fund accounting.
Mr. Martinson holds a B.S. in Accounting with a Minor in Economics from Manhattan College.Josh Greene
Managing Director & Partner
Josh Greene is a Managing Director focused on underwriting, originating, and servicing bridge loans.
Prior to Maxim, Mr. Greene was a Senior Analyst at Castellan Capital, where he underwrote and assisted with the bridge loan origination process in addition to serving their loan portfolio and its borrowers.
Mr. Greene holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Indiana University.
Barry Bergman
Board of Directors & Executive Committee
Barry Bergman is a partner of Maxim Capital Group where he is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He is a Partner at GPS Investment Partners LLC and the Managing Partner of ALBA Investments. Mr. Bergman draws from a 30+ year career in real estate, private investing and leveraged finance. In 2009, Mr. Bergman co‐founded Lake Success Rentals, an owner and operator of over 2,500 homes and apartments in South Florida and North Carolina. Since 2010, Lake Success, in partnership with Tricon Capital Group, purchased, rehabilitated, and operated, over $200 million of single-family residences in the Southeast United States. Mr. Bergman also sits on the Advisory Board of Encore Housing Opportunity Fund.
Prior to founding ALBA Investments, Mr. Bergman spent 12 years as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and its predecessor, Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette, in the Leveraged Finance Department. Previously, Mr. Bergman spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley in the firm’s Leveraged Finance Group. He is currently on the Finance Committee and an executive board member of The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty.
Mr. Bergman received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Chicago and a BS degree in Economics and Business from SUNY Binghamton.Scott Prince

Scott Prince is a Partner at Maxim where is he a Member of the Board and Executive Committee. Mr. Prince is a Founding Member of GPS Investment Partners LLC, an Executive Chairman of Merchant Investment Management, LLC and the Vice Chairman of Chiron Investment Management, LLC. Additionally, Mr. Prince is a Board Member of Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance, where he is a Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a Member of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Prince was formerly Co-Managing Partner of Skybridge Capital from 2007 until 2011. Prior to Skybridge, Mr. Prince was a Partner at Eton Park Capital Management from launch in 2004 until 2007, where he headed global trading and the fund’s derivatives business. Mr. Prince was Co-Head of Equities Trading and Global Equity Derivatives at Goldman Sachs through 2004. He was named a Partner in 1998 and served on the firm’s Finance Committee and the Equity Division’s Risk and Operating Committees. He was a Director of the International Securities Exchange from 2002 to 2004, a Member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board from 2008 to 2017, has served as a Board Member of the Hope and Heroes Pediatric Cancer Foundation since 2001 and has served as a Director of the Greater Miami-Miami Beach Police Foundation since 2017.

Marc Spilker
Board of Directors & Executive Committee
Marc Spilker is a partner of Maxim Capital Group where he is a Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Mr. Spilker is also a Founding Member of GPS Investment Partners, LLC, an Executive Chairman of Merchant Investment Management, LLC and the Chairman of Chiron Investment Management, LLC. From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Spilker was President of Apollo Global Management and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. In 2010, prior to joining Apollo, Mr. Spilker retired from Goldman Sachs following a 20-year career with the firm. At Goldman he served as co-head of the Investment Management Division (IMD) and was also a member of the firmwide Management and Risk Committees.
Mr. Spilker previously served on the Investment Advisory Committee at Google and was a member of the American Stock Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Council of Economic and Fiscal Advisors for Governor Andrew Cuomo. He has served on the boards of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the Stone and Bridge Street Funds, BrokerTec and Bondbook, LLC.
Mr. Spilker is a board member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board, iSentium, LLC, The New 42nd Street, Inc., The Samuel Bronfman Department of Medicine Advisory Board at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Advisory Board for Mount Sinai’s Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology. Additionally, he serves on the Third Way Board of Trustees, where he is the Founder of Third Way’s Capital Markets Initiative, is a member of the Social Finance, Inc. Advisory Council and chairs the RFK Leadership Council at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
Mr. Spilker received the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award in 2010 and is a recipient of the 2016 Wharton Alumni Award for Distinguished Service. He is a committed supporter of independent public affairs documentaries and has provided funding for three prime time PBS specials, all of which received critical acclaim and numerous awards. These films include Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence (PBS 2007), Jerusalem: Center of the World (PBS, 2009), and The Jewish Journey: America (PBS, 2015). Mr. Spilker also supported an independently produced documentary short about the life of pianist Byron Janis and a five-part media series for The New 42nd Street, Inc.
Mr. Spilker graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Nick Zagoreos
Managing Director Sales & Marketing
Nick Zagoreos serves as the Managing Director of Sales and Marketing at Maxim Capital Group. Before joining Maxim, Nick spent a decade at Korthi Capital where he advised and assisted in capital raising efforts for alternative investment managers and corporate issuers. Prior to Korthi Capital, he held the position of Head of Business Development at Third Point Reinsurance Investment Management and served as Managing Director for MAN/GLG in both London and New York, where he raised capital for various funds from investors across the US and Europe.
Nick also ran the European private placement business at Lazard in London where he worked for 10 years. In this capacity, he spearheaded the sourcing, execution, and capital raising efforts across diverse corporate issuers’ balance sheets.
Nick is a graduate of Skidmore College with a major in Psychology and holds dual citizenship in the United States and France.
Tara Guilfoyle
Director of Investor Relations
Tara Guilfoyle has served as the Director of Investor Relations at Maxim for over 5 years. Tara is responsible for orchestrating the Investor Relations Program, serving as the main point of contact for Investors, coordinating marketing efforts, implementation of the firm’s CRM and Investor Portal, quarterly reporting and day to day operating responsibilities. Tara also helps oversee capital activity and liquidity management, the Fund’s credit facilities and moderates Risk and Advisory Board meetings.
Prior to joining Maxim, Tara was the Director of Investor Relations at Castellan Real Estate Partners, a vertically integrated real estate investment firm with platforms covering bridge lending, equity investments and property management.
Tara received a Master of Business Administration from the Zicklin School of Business and has a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and Associates degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America.
Sarah Krauss
Senior Controller
Sarah Krauss is currently the Senior Controller at Maxim Capital Group. Prior to joining Maxim, Ms. Krauss was a State and Local Tax Accountant for Ernst & Young, where she produced full year tax compliance packages for Wealth & Asset Management firms.
Ms. Krauss holds a B.A. in Accounting from Washington University in St. Louis and is a licensed CPA.
Billy Haber
Associate
Billy Haber is an Associate at Maxim and focuses on analyzing and sourcing bridge loans. Prior to joining Maxim, Mr. Haber was an Underwriter at Meridian Capital Group where he assisted with the closing of over $1 billion of commercial debt. Prior to Meridian Capital Group, Mr. Haber was an Associate in the Corporate Finance and Valuation Services Group at Grant Thornton. Mr. Haber is a Certified Public Accountant and Graduated with Distinction from the University of Wisconsin with his BBA. Mr. Haber also received his Masters of Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin
David Chillura
Associate
David Chillura is an Associate at Maxim focused on underwriting and sourcing bridge loans. Prior to joining the Maxim team, Mr. Chillura was an Associate at 48 Capital where he assisted in sourcing and analyzing commercial debt. Prior to 48 Capital, David worked as a Management Consultant for Cognizant Consulting in their Digital Strategy practice.
Mr. Chillura received a Bachelors degree from Georgetown University, a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Max Kaufman
Asset Manager – Construction
Max Kaufman is an Asset Manager at Maxim responsible for portfolio asset management and all construction loan monitoring. Prior to joining Maxim, Max managed capital construction projects as an owner’s representative at STV Inc., The Mount Sinai Healthy System, DBI Projects, Lehrer Cumming and Mesosystems.
Max received a Bachelor’s Degree from Emerson College, a Master’s of Science in Real Estate Development from NYU, and a Master’s of Science in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management from The New School.
Louis Pascale
Loan Servicing Specialist
Louis Pascale is a seasoned Loan Servicing Specialist at Maxim Capital Group, where he brings his expertise to managing the loan portfolio and overseeing day-to-day loan activities.
Prior to joining Maxim, Louis served as a Senior Loan Servicing Specialist at Jovia Financial Federal Credit Union. In this role, he specialized in efficiently servicing a loan portfolio comprised of 300+ loans.
Louis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from C.W. Post University, with a concentration in Finance.
Daria Clark

Daria Clark is a Junior Fund Accountant at Maxim Capital Group. Prior to joining Maxim Capital Group, Daria Clark worked at Deloitte as a Tax Accountant working in the Financial Services Industries service line for Private Equity and Hedge Fund clients.
Daria Clark graduated from Rutgers University with her B.A. in Accounting & Finance.
Joey Dinetz
Analyst
Joey Dinetz is an Analyst at Maxim Capital Group focusing on analyzing and underwriting loans.
Prior to Maxim, Joey was a Commercial Consultant at First Horizon Bank where he assisted on lender originations involving CRE, C&I, Letters of Credit, and Lines of Credit, totaling $350MM over a 2-year period.
Joey holds a Dual Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and Entrepreneurship from the University of Wisconsin.
Matt Kim
Treasury Analyst
Matt Kim is an Treasury Analyst at Maxim Capital Group focusing on liquidity and risk analysis across the firm’s products.
Prior to Maxim, Matt was an analyst at KKR & Co. where he focused on building technology-driven solutions for business processes across a variety of teams by creating data repositories, applications, and automation.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University with a double major in Finance and Business Analytics as well as a minor in Data Science.
Troy Pilla
Junior Fund Accountant
Troy Pilla is a Junior Fund Accountant at Maxim Capital Group. Prior to Maxim, Troy worked at PwC as an Audit Associate working in the Financial Services Industry service line for Fund of Fund, Hedge Fund, and Private Equity clients.
Troy graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a minor Business Analytics and a Master’s degree in Standard Accounting.
